Monthly Activities

The 25th Annual General Body Meeting was held on 5th July 2025, uniting parents, teachers, and management to review progress and plan ahead. Highlights included the felicitation of SSC toppers, gratitude to outgoing members, and a fruitful discussion on the school's future initiatives.

The Feast of St. Maria Goretti was celebrated on 8th July with a short assembly. Students highlighted her virtues and presented a prayer service and squad song. Junior Lily Squad Minister Revati Naik addressed the gathering, while Ms. Julie Jayan spoke on courage and dignity.

The Child Helpline number 1098 was shared with students. A quiz followed in class, and the celebration ended with festal greetings by the Lily Squad ministers — a meaningful reminder of the values of purity, forgiveness, and faith.

To honour St. Maria Goretti, a special session was held for Std. IX students in the School Hall. Ms. Cheryl Fernandez, assisted by Ms. Dagmar D'Cruz, used music and a PPT to highlight virtues like honesty, modesty, and chastity — encouraging students to uphold these values despite modern social pressures.

French Composite students of Standards 9 & 10 celebrated Bastille Day with enthusiasm. On 14th July, Class 9 presented songs, handmade tricolour badges, and cultural activities. On 18th July, Class 10, guided by Madame Bona Lobo, performed a French skit "A Visit to France" and showcased creativity in "The Garden of Talents."

Our school hosted an exciting Intersquad Throw Ball Competition on 14th and 15th July for students of Standards 8 to 10. After intense semi-finals, Sunflower and Lotus squads faced off in the finals, delivering a thrilling match full of team spirit and sportsmanship.

On 30th July, a Creative Story Writing Competition was conducted, organised by the Times of India in collaboration with Pilot Pen. Students wrote original stories in any genre — horror, suspense, tragedy, or happiness. The coordinators from Times of India appreciated the active participation and praised the school's commitment to nurturing creativity.

The 79th Independence Day, combined with the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was celebrated with great pride and devotion. The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, followed by a guard of honour by students trained by HD Instructors.

The Inter-Squad Patriotic Singing Competition was held on 12th August 2025. Each squad presented a patriotic song in a language of their choice, making creative use of props, PPT slides, and musical instruments. The judges praised the teamwork and passion displayed.

On 14th August 2025, our school solemnly observed Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. A lamp was lit and two minutes of silence were observed, followed by a heartfelt Prayer for Peace. A moving poem "From Darkness to Dawn" was recited, reminding everyone of the value of peace and togetherness.

"May this remembrance inspire us to prevent such tragedies and to live in unity."

On Monday, 4th August 2025, Value Education teachers of Standards 5 to 10 conducted impactful sessions on Good Touch and Bad Touch. Using age-appropriate real-life examples, the sessions empowered students with knowledge to protect themselves and encouraged open communication with trusted adults.

As part of the Social Outreach Programme, students of Std. IX (A–F) visited different Old Age Homes across Mumbai on 6th August 2025. Accompanied by their teachers, the students brought warmth, joy, and companionship to the elderly residents — a deeply moving experience for all involved.

Canossa High School organised a memorable outreach visit to SEAL Ashram, Panvel, for the students of Standard 10, Divisions A, B, and C. The students offered a heartfelt prayer service, dance performances, and melodious songs, which were met with warm smiles and applause from the audience.

Canossa High School presented a unique blend of Science, Mathematics, and Arts under the theme "Colours and Concepts." The exhibition was inaugurated on 22nd August 2025 by Dr. Shabista Shaikh. Mathematics models covered Integers, 3-Dimensional Shapes, and more, while the Science section showcased seven innovative themes including Food Health and Hygiene, Quantum Science, and Natural Farming.

The Eco Club organised a Poster Making Competition with Project Mumbai on 26th August 2025. The event was judged by the Project Mumbai team along with Ms. Depali Saswadkar. Students expressed their environmental thoughts artistically, reinforcing the urgent need to protect our planet.

The Rose Squad celebrated their squad feast on 25th August 2025 in honour of their patroness, St. Joan of Arc. The programme was introduced by senior minister Pravina Perumalsamy and was beautifully organised by Ms. Mary Michael and Ms. Savia Alphonso. The celebration concluded with the pledge and school anthem — a reminder of the Rose Squad's values: courage, hard work, and discipline.

Canossa High School organised a Medical Health Check-up Camp in collaboration with S. L. Raheja Hospital. The camp covered General Health (Dr. Anant Patil), Eye Care (optometrists Henna Tandel and Ankit Trivedi), and Dental Care (Dr. Megha and Dr. Archana). Students left better equipped to maintain their overall well-being.

Cabinet leaders Maitri Balsara, Gauri Dolas, Ayushi Prajapati, Aamna Qureshi, Revati Naik, and Elisha Fernandez, along with Ms. Thamarai Selvi, attended a Leadership Empowerment Session at SIES High School. The session focused on listening and speaking skills, value education, and environmental conservation — truly informative and inspiring for our young leaders.

Under the Adult Literacy Campaign, schoolgirls taught their parents at home, and those parents courageously sat the government examination. Certificates were bestowed by Principal Sr. Vailankani upon Smt. Kashibai Mhaskikar, Smt. Zahida Qureshi, Smt. Premlata Gajjali, Smt. Anita Vichare, Smt. Devendramma Metre, and Smt. Gauramma Yamar — a proud moment for the entire school community.

The Maharashtra State Child Welfare Board organised the Ward Level Inter-School Folk Dance Competition. Students from various schools of Ward G-North participated. On 9th September 2025, the grand event was hosted at our school premises. The Principal, Sr. Vailankani, along with the examiners, guided the participating students. The programme concluded successfully at 12:30 p.m.

The Investiture Ceremony of the Guides of Std. VIII was held with great pride and enthusiasm. Guide in-charge Ms. Sasika and Ms. Reshma led the solemn ceremony. The Guides offered their salute, sang the Flag Song, and took the Guide Promise. Teachers enrolled each Guide by placing the scarf around their necks.

Ms. Julie Jayan addressed the gathering with encouraging words, and the programme ended with a patriotic song led by Ms. Sugandha. "Being a Guide is not just wearing a badge, but living a life of service, discipline, and kindness."

Since 14th September (Hindi Diwas) fell on a Sunday, our school celebrated the occasion on 13th September. Posters on the importance of Hindi were displayed across the campus. Five students enthusiastically participated in inter-school competitions organised by the Rotary Club of Mumbai North End at Malad on 14th September.

The celebration paid tribute to the beauty of the Hindi language and inspired students to take pride in their national heritage.

Students of Std. 6 organised a meaningful outreach programme, welcoming students from Pragati Vidyalay and Vikas Vidyalay for the deaf and dumb. The programme included a prayer dance, welcome song, action song, and a beautiful poem. The invited students then gave their own wonderful performances, warmly appreciated by all.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, leaving behind cherished memories of joy, sharing, and bonding — a beautiful spirit of friendship and inclusion.
